Upon arrival in Toledo, we cross the city walls to start our guided tour of Toledo in the heart of the city, the Plaza Zocodover, to enter the old town on foot, walking through narrow streets to the Plaza del Ayuntamiento where we will admire the impressive Toledo Cathedral and the old Palace of Justice.
We will continue our tour of Toledo through the labyrinth of narrow streets of the Jewish and Moorish quarters as if we had been transported centuries ago, learning the stories and legends of the time when Toledo was known as the “City of Three Cultures” as evidenced by the unique Church of San Salvador, a former mosque built on Visigothic remains.
We continue our guided tour of Toledo until we reach the exterior of the Church of Santo Tomé, inside which you can admire the moving painting of the “Burial of the Count of Orgaz” painted by the famous painter El Greco.
During the guided tour, our guide will also tell us about the famous handicrafts of Toledo and its gastronomic products such as the famous marzipan that some artisans still sell in small shops.
